Target Audience
A stand alone qualification for practicing managers who work, or who aspire to work at middle management level. Typically such a work role would involve responsibility for a department or unit and the associated planning, decisionmaking, controlling, monitoring and people management.
Learning Outcomes
At the end of the programme learners will:
- Have understood the specific responsibilities of middle managers enabling the organisation to meet its goals
- Have understood how interpersonal relationships, leadership styles and communications skills affect managerial performance
- Gain an appreciation of financial forecasting, planning and budgeting
- Know how to lead and manage effective meetings
- Know how to identify and create development plans for individuals and monitor progress
- Appreciate the managerial role in relation to current employment law legislation
- Know how to research and evaluate information and write a proposal for a business improvement
- Know how to plan and deliver professional presentations
- Know how to critically assess own managerial performance and create a personal development plan for future implementation
Out of course work includes three unit assessments as follows:
- 2000 word assignment - Understanding the management role
- 2000 word work-based improvement assignment and presentation
- 1500 word assignment and workbook - Managing individual development
Full support provided throughout the programme by a business coach. Consistantly high first time pass rate.
